The National Officer (NOA) in Erbil will report to WFP Erbil FSO Job Purpose
To support the management of WFP’s security day-to-day operations to facilitate the effective delivery of programmes that meet food assistance needs and maintain the security and safety of WFP personnel, activities and facilities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)  Drafting documents like WFP Emergency Plans, SoPs and other documents related to security and in line with existing UNAMI Security Plans and SoPs for WFP Iraq Head of Security endorsement and final WFP Iraq CD’s approval.  Attending security meetings as required on behalf of WFP Iraq Head of Security in Baghdad or WFP Erbil FSO in Erbil.  Supporting WFP Baghdad CO during WFP Iraq Head of Security’s absence from the country.  Providing feedback and recommendations to WFP Iraq Head of Security regarding issues related to the operational aspect of Security in Baghdad and the Central Region.  Preparing After Mission Reports following the field trip.  Providing security recommendations to WFP Iraq Head of Security aiming to enhance WFP staff and assets safety and security  Reporting security updates to WFP Iraq Security Team through WFP Iraq Head of Security  Updating and implementing Emergency Plans when required  Establishing and maintaining coordination with Security Counterparts (UNDSS, UNAMI, Military, Police, Coalition Forces, I/NGO Focal Points) as required  Drafting weekly security updates with a brief analysis focusing on the impact on WFP Ops  Responsible to ensure that WFP Staff and assets are compliant with country-specific mandatory security requirements.  Facilitating and participating in emergency drills in coordination with Security Counterparts when applicable  Supervising Security National Staff when required  Performing any other task as required to ensure the safety and security of WFP Staff, assets and operations

First University degree with additional years of related work experience or a diploma obtained from Military/Police Academy with qualifying relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the First University degree.
Three years or more of progressively responsible professional experience in security management (relevant military, policy or corporate) and security risk management. Experience in managing support staff.
Knowledge & Skills:
 Good theoretical understanding of security management concepts and principals with a knowledge of best practices, techniques, and processes.
 Ability to assimilate a range of information and make basic analyses to support the development of efficient solutions.
 Good communication skills and the ability to adapt communication style to different situations and individuals.
 Ability to contribute to and/or deliver effective briefing and training, assessing participant needs.
 Knowledge of common business principals & processes and the ability to quickly assimilate UN/WFP specific processes and systems
Fluency (level C) in English language (oral and writing) and Kurdish.
Fluency in Arabic desirable.
